What postings can and cannot say
Indeed counts the job ads on its own site, seasonally adjusts each series and averages it over seven days. Postings turn before hiring does, which is why they lead payrolls; but a posting is not a hire, a job or a wage, and employers who hire without Indeed are not in it.
The occupation split is Indeed’s own grouping of normalised job titles. Read a sector’s change, not its level: a sector at 160 has grown since 2020, not become three times the size of one at 55.
